Decisions, Decisions!

Just out of curiosity why forget the .243 at 200 yards? You load a 100gr in the 6mm, a 140ish in the 6.5 and a 150ish in the 7mm and they are all within a couple hundred FPS. Is it just barrel life?
I didn't mean forget it. I meant leave it alone. Don't re-barrel it if most of the shooting is going to be 200 yards or less. There's not really any advantage to the heavier bullets that close in my opinion.

I do several AP builds in AR 15 and 10. I now have 2 CBI hybrid 22" m118 chambered barrels purchases from Brownell's that are outstanding. Using pmag gen3 you can go 2.830".

With the .243 I'd blow it out to an AI, be that the existing barrel or something extra zippy. Not for any velocity gains, but for brass life.

For a while, and maybe still, the Brownell's private label AR10 .308 barrels were made by Satern. I got one, shoots exceptionally good for the price. Enough so that I shoot it more than the upper with the expensive can't recall whose barrel in it.
