That is a great question. Now on to research the Jarret. When I called PTG this morning they knew exactly what I wanted. Told me a couple comp shooters of theres had done the same thing. who knows. Im excited to see where this ends up!

I messaged Feenix about his 30 Gibbs. But that was based off the 30-06. There are so many improved cartridges , 300 prc, 300 norma to name two lol.

Nope I dug up some old threads, it's a .300 Jarrett / ackley case with a 37.5 degree shoulder.

Would creating a 40 degree shoulder and blowing out case taper on my 300 weatherby improve on performance? Even 100-150fps?

Sounds like you're looking for a 300 RUM??

If we keep the .361 of free bore, then we can increase the powder capacity and hopefully keep the pressure down. The thread on the nosler forum talked about having a normal 30 cal chamber. As the weatherby factory loads were to hot.
Again just brainstorming. Waiting on PTG and the reamer.
