Coyote gun build

I had a Kimber Montana re-barreled to 22 CreedMoor that finished up mid-Dec. 1:7 Lilja factory contour duplicate @ 22", so it looks just like any Kimber 84M Montana you'd see on the shelf.

75gn A-Max @ 3550 w/R-26, Alpha Brass, and CCI 450's.

Topped w/Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x42 in Leupold Back Country integral (Talley Lightweight copy).

Scythe Ti suppressor and Spartan classic rifle bipod adapter.

7.4# w/no ammo on board.

It's a handy package to "grab-and-go".

I got 2 coyotes with it the only weekend I've had it out, both of the "drive-by" variety. 1 runner @ 125-150yds. The 2nd runner @ 325yds (I ranged after I shot). Neither required any "hold-off" except for a bit of lead.

I also have a 1:8 22-250 set up exactly the same except no muzzle-threads, so, no suppressor. 75's @ 3275fps from a 22" 1:8 Lilja. It's been such a handy package to have around, I figured the same pattern w/more speed would be more betterer.

Nice rig Horse, I did pretty much the same thing about 4 years ago. I went 8 twist Lilja, cut to 23", Omega on it. I have a 3-10 with M1 on top. It loves Varget and 73 Bergs. 63 Sierra's and 70 Hammers and of course 62 TTSX (man's gotta have an elk load right)

I was hoping to develop a load for the .224 70gn Badlands SuperBullDozer as a "do-all" .224. Maybe someone will bring them back to market, or develop something even better.

And from left field.............naturally someone has to say it but...........snork

Back when I got serious about taking out yotes from near to far (would take 40-50 a year or so) I built a 6/06. This was pre quick twist craze so I was running a 10 twist. I mainly ran 70 and 95 NBT's. This is one heck of a yote stomper! Even on fringe hits things ended quickly with a minimal amount of fuss and muss.

Just had to toss it out there sorry...

That would definitely be a fun one in the future. My wife will thank you for chunking another build in my head 😂
You could get to roughly the same spot going 6PRC if you wanted to stick with a short action. Powder capacity is pretty doggone close and there's loads of great PRC brass available to work with.

I've thought about going 6 PRC when my 7 WSM barrel goes to Croak City Wyo...:). I have a M70 stls action and one of D'Arcy's Legend handles with Edge fill. Suppress it and yikes look out world!

Spooky! I have a M70 SS Classic in 7WSM in an Edge Compact if I ever decide to actually do the 6PRC.....

I have it in the Edge Compact as we speak, I am not a fan in anyway shape or form...Can't with to get it in the Legend, then it'll be a freaking Rock Star. The Compact isn't a lot of fun for me to shoot. Course since putting the brake and can on it it's plays much nicer:)...

I shoot 150 Scenar's, bounced a cow with it a couple weeks back and it'll be in the field for whitetail come Thursday am

I put this together last summer for coyote hunting. My choice was 221 FB on a Howa mini action but I'm not shooting that far. Wanted something light and easy to handle. Bought the Boyd's Spike Camp stock for it and really am pleased with it. Shorter forend and lighter weight.
