I had a Kimber Montana re-barreled to 22 CreedMoor that finished up mid-Dec. 1:7 Lilja factory contour duplicate @ 22", so it looks just like any Kimber 84M Montana you'd see on the shelf.

75gn A-Max @ 3550 w/R-26, Alpha Brass, and CCI 450's.

Topped w/Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x42 in Leupold Back Country integral (Talley Lightweight copy).

Scythe Ti suppressor and Spartan classic rifle bipod adapter.

7.4# w/no ammo on board.

It's a handy package to "grab-and-go".

I got 2 coyotes with it the only weekend I've had it out, both of the "drive-by" variety. 1 runner @ 125-150yds. The 2nd runner @ 325yds (I ranged after I shot). Neither required any "hold-off" except for a bit of lead.

I also have a 1:8 22-250 set up exactly the same except no muzzle-threads, so, no suppressor. 75's @ 3275fps from a 22" 1:8 Lilja. It's been such a handy package to have around, I figured the same pattern w/more speed would be more betterer.

You could get to roughly the same spot going 6PRC if you wanted to stick with a short action. Powder capacity is pretty doggone close and there's loads of great PRC brass available to work with.

Yes I could the saw WTO was getting 3500 out of theirs with the 80gr Eldvt idk the barrel length. I didn't do to much reading on it. I feel like they could push that much faster. Who knows maybe I just missed that part.

It works for me. I like to be able to run it with or without a sling. I also like that it's fast/handy enough for "drive-by" when running between bird-hunting spots.

I don't think I'm giving up any accuracy by being that light, but, it does require a bit of patience and concentration to shoot something that light reasonably well. It doesn't "settle" as fast as something that's 1-2# heavier.

Got a box of unused ones if you get to needing some. Think it's 50 or 100 cnt.

I appreciate the offer, but, I'm not going to work with a projectile I cannot readily obtain. I'd like to try 75gn Swift Scirocco's too, but same boat, unobtanium.

My 26inch Krieger with a 8.5 inch can is definitely a little harder for "drive-by" while checking cattle or getting it out of a tractor haha.

After thinking about west Texas ordnance 6prc I went back on their page to see the progress. I had totally forgot they made a 22 varmit round called 22lrv. It's based off the 6xc case and shoots 77gr bullets over 3500. If I put that in a 20 inch barrel I still should get great speeds

For the ranges you outlined, I'd go with a 6mm bore. 6XC is very similar to 6CM & 243 ballistically but it a bit more unique if you're wanting something not everyone else has. Brass available from Peterson and at reasonable prices if you buy via David Tubb.

I definitely see what you're saying. I'm not sure if I want to have another 6mm round. I don't have a single 22 of any kind. I do have my 6gt, 257 Robert's, a barrel for a 25 SST. And a 308 so I think the biggest thing missing right now is a 224

Given your situation, I think I'd go the 224 route as well. Good luck with your build, they are always fun
