Core-lokt

Anyone notice Core-lokt's are very accurate? Every rifle I own seems to love Core-lokt's. Not that I would use them on Elk, but they shoot well.
Yeah me too. Everything I've shot, shot well. Recently when I bought a Remington in 6mm creedmoor I was given a box of core-lokt's. Think they were around 100gr. Used them for scope sight-in/break-in and they were 1MOA OR better

My first deer and elk were with a 270 win with core-lokt. I had a few boxes that would shoot consistently half moa with an occasional clover leaf to boot. Never felt the need to reload for that gun. Wish my customs would shoot factory that well!

Like any cup and core bullet, if a core-lokt strikes at high velocity, there is a non-zero probability it could fragment prior to penetration.

It has never happened to me but more than one of my hunting buddies has experienced that - e.g., 270wsm 130gr core lokts at 50 yards.

I tend to use 270win, 150gr federal fusion or even 150 core lokt or power points where close range impact velocity is a lot lower than my buddy's experience.

My 270wby and 280ai and 7mm mags are using 140 AB's partly for this consideration. No cup and core.

I bought a box of 160 grain 7mm, core-lokt bullets a while back and they said bonded on the box. They shoot lights out in my 7-08. I'm looking forward to using them this year.

Yes, they have dropped all kind of creatures great and small. I was surprised when my African PH insisted I bring them for my plains game hunt, but I took his advice. They worked great for everything. I always have a few Remington boxes for every caliber rifle I own. They get the job done.

That's interesting. Would have thought the request would have been for Barnes.
