What a fantastic rig. Can only dream of importing those stocks here nowadays. $$$$$ too much tax.
I guess that coyote didn't like itā¦
Cheers.
P.S.
Nice Elk rifle.
My elk rifles:
300PRC 26" w. 9" can 230 Hyb @ 2995, this is a "glass them up, and shoot them from here" rifle. This replaced my seasoned 300RUM pushing 215s @ 3100, that killed a bunch of elk over 13 years. A lot of first elk, including my younger daughter's first bull at 11 years old, my son-in-law's first big game animal ever a great old bull, a cousin's first bull, another cousin's first bull, and my first rifle bull.
Old 300RUM in one of it's versions. This thing evolved over the years.
28 Nosler 26" w. Brake, 195 Elite @ 3096 this is a LR family member/friend rifle, but it will be getting a can by next year. Doesn't get shot much yet, because everyone grabs the 7RM.
7RM 26" w. Brake, 180 Hyb @ 2996. This is the go-to family/friend rifle. Most of my immediate and extended family have killed with this rifle. It is a semi-custom, but is the ONLY rifle I would never get rid of,even though it is my least expensive build. It was my late father-in-laws. We hunted together for 20+ years, and he never killed with it. So when he was in hospice, he asked me to build it up, and kill an elk with it for him. 2 days later, he passed away. I took it down, and rebarelled and chambered in the same 7RM he carried, new stock, new trigger, and S&B PMII 3-20x50. That fall, my younger daughter killed the first elk with it. I killed my best bull the next fall. My older daughter killed 2 years later. Numerous cousins, nephews, and friends that knew him well have killed with it. I still have to get my son-in-law and one nephew to kill with it, but we have plenty of time. It's has taken elk from 60ish to 882.
7SS 24" w. 6.5" can. 184 Hyb @ 2865. This is my pack around rifle for hiking all day. My nephew was ready to kill with it, but chose to carry the 7RM to join the family heirloom team.
