Conflicted. 284 or 308 build on Sav SA

I've taken the 208 Amax to 2700+ in the 308, though I don't recommend it. 2600 is reasonable and getting 2500-2550 is easy. With that in mind, it'll run with the 260 albeit there is a lot more recoil involved but it'll get you into FTR and have superb barrel life. You can run 168-178s for practice as they don't punch you as hard and you'll learn more about wind doping.

My vote is for the 308.

284 is the best for long range and 7mm B.C. bullet is much higher than .30 cal at the same weight.

Also the Lapua brass is an excellent choice therefore you can neck up from 6.5x284 to 284.
