I bet there's something else in the closet that can deflate that bull moose....
Where did you draw....
Talk to Steve at hammer bullets and get set up on one of his bullets in ur 6.5. He took a 257wby with their bullets to Africa and shot an 1800lb eland with it. The proper bullet with proper shot placement will get it doneThe hunt is up in Alaska. I wish I had something else in the closet. Next size caliber is 6.5x284....and I'm sure it would kill a bull, but I would much prefer taking the Ultra Mag.
You dont have to take the gun to the dealer to ship. Call CA and they will email a pre paid shipping label and you can take it to UPS and if you choose to get another gun from them they can ship it to you. I had a ridgeline back to them last year
If it were me and I was really worried, as it sounds like you rightly are, I would look at a Cooper in stock somewhere and get CA to refund the rifle. Or even a Nosler, which is gauranteed MOA with their factory ammo. I am sure the 6.5 would kill the moose, but the last thing you want is any doubt in your mind, which it sounds like you have. Confidence is everything, and being nervous on a hunt sucks.
You bought the rifle for a reason and it sounds like it is this trip. Call CA and raise hell.
