Christensen arms Ridgeline

I will only use rl26 for hunting right now also. Tried it in 3 different cartridges in my 1000 yard match rifle and just couldn't get it tight. Shot great at 100. I use h4350 in the Creed and h4831 in the 6.5-284.

That strange. I've yet to find a cartridge suited for RL26 that I couldn't get to shoot great at any distance and it's surprisingly temp stable when loaded in the middle of the nodes. I keep hearing about it going unstable above 85°, but even in the El Paso summer heat, I keep not seeing it. I just about locked up my 6.5 PRC bolt with N565 at 100+° last year, though.

With the 6.5-284, and the PRC for that matter, there is a nice wide node around 54.5 grains of RL26 with a 156 seated .020"-.040" off the lands.

It's funny. RL26 showed the temp pressure spikes in my 6.5-284, but not in my 7 STW or 338 Lapua in 100 degree temps (I'm in San Antonio)

I never noticed any funny spikes with it in any of my rounds. Just couldn't get consistent groups. Shoot a 1/4 inch 5 shot group and load the same 5 brass and shoot it again 10 minutes later and shoot 3/4 inch group. That stuff drives you crazy.

I've had a few barrels from well known custom makers that have done the same thing unfortunately. Currently battling one in 6.5prc. I shot a 5 shot group other day that had an es of 8. And it was 3" @ 100y. I'm bout ready to turn it into a tomato stake.
I had a Ruger RPR in 6.5 Creedmoor that did the same thing, I ran it out to 200 yards and it was 1.5" groups. I don't know why never figured it out, I guessing that the bullet just wasn't getting stable until it traveled further. I sold it to a guy that wanted a steel plinker. I brought him to the range and let him shoot it before he bought it and he was ok with the performance.

Hey all!! I just got some RL26 and was able to get the load my buddy had previously worked up for the 6.5 PRC that I bought off him. It is a Christensen Arms MPR. The load is:
55.8 grn of RL26
156 Berger EOL
Fed 210 primer
COL of 2.951

I had it zeroed in with factory Hornady 143 ELD-X and this is a 1in sticker at 100 yards. Didn't move the scope first 3 Berger rounds. We shot at 950 yards after. Hit 9 out of 12 with 5 in a 6 in group.

That's awesome.! I have one in .308. I'll attach a cold Bore and a 3 shot group at 100 yards.
I fired cold Bore aiming center of the circle and the last 3 at the bottom triangle, point of aim point of impact.

I totally agree. Love my 6.5-284. Recently rebarreled my Tikka and changed it from a .243 to the 6.5. Creed. Sweet shooter and now I'm a believer......never thought I'd drink the CM kool-aid. Crazy thing is I can get near Norma speeds using the 143 gr ELDX and RL26. Tiny groups at 2950 fps, can you believe that?? In the Creed nonetheless. And I never hit pressure, but ran out of case capacity.

I've got a couple of them my favorite being a Ruger 1

Here's is a four shot group with my Ridgeline PRC to finalize load development with RL26 and 156 EOLs. This particular rifle likes 54.8 grains of RL26 with a 156 seated .040" off primed with a 210M. Hard to complain about a factory rifle with this capability.

I'm going to work up to that load. I have the components . I went to range today with a buddy. Was raining . Nobody there. Stopped raining shortly . I had my C.A. Ridgeline in 6.5 PRC and a TC Encore 6.5 PRC with MGM 27 in. 1 in. Full bull. Have got nothing spectacular yet out of either. Best I got today was 1 in. with Factory 143 ELDX and 1 inch with 124 Hammer with 59.9 grs. RL23. I didn't have any 124's loaded with RL26 but did 131 hammers . I've known long ago they don't shoot good in either . Nor 6.5 Creed Tikka or Cooper 52 in 6.5x284. not made for 1in 8 twist. 124 shoot great out of 3 Creeds. Going down to 59.0 grs. RL23 in PRC. and try with RL26. Going to work on loads you all have given for 6.5x284. My Cooper is 24 in. Barrel with short throat. Had to seat factory HSM 140 VLD deeper. Were touching lands and sticky bolt. If you can believe. Same with factory Norma 156 Oryx. I didn't chono anything today.

I was between the 6.5-284 & the 6.5 prc. I ended up going with the Prc only because the prc was on sale. Finally got my scope on it & got it on paper yesterday. I got the 20 moa rail with the bubble from this site & put my vx5 3x15x56 on it.
