Christensen actions have issues or ok?

14 posts and surprised no one has mentioned…at least their big magnums have dual ejectors and every dual ejector rifle I ever have dealt with pressures up quicker and you can't get the speed you want.

I wouldn't own one (any rifle with dual ejectors) and I can't recommend one.

For what this is worth, I still own one and owned three of them. Best friends son in law has one of them, niece has another one. All functioned without issues, and were accurate. I'm loading one for a friend now that shoots half inch in a 6.5 PRC.
My CA Ridgeline is in 7-08,is scary accurate using120 HH bullets and has rang up about 50 kills in the last couple of years.
According to the statics I'm above average on them, all I've had are well made and very functional.

I haven't noticed this. I am running ADG brass in one rifle and Peterson on the other. I had to reduce charges on the ADG brass for sure.

The main issue I have after shooting probably 50 of them, is the cock on open has been very stiff on every one. So much so, it feels like heavy bolt lift after firing any round, or even on an empty chamber.
I noticed thst right off with my Ridgeline 6.5 PRC. I was thinking my loads were over pressure at first. My Cooper Mod. 52 in 6.5x284 has even heavier lift. I first shot it with factory ammo I was WTH ? LOL.
Both great shooters and no problems with either.

Dual ejectors, launch your cases. Good if in the old west, trying to make a movie, not so fun if you like to keep your cases to relead.
Mine is not the smoothest when chambering, kind of like a Defiance, trying to get over the extractor.

Shoots well though. Definitely a hunter, not a competition/speed action.

Can u elaborate on the speed action comment?

As Lance mentioned ejection has a slight pause with the bolt lift. When chambering a round, I have to grab the back of the stock (when on a rear bag, this makes for moving my position) and hold it because the extractor has to clear the rim of the case.
Not an issue from a tree stand, but if a rapid follow up is needed, it is challenging to stay on the target. Shouldn't be a problem in most cases now. My only deer that required more shots, was my first one ever with a shotty, and that was just excitement(at least that is what I tell myself;))

Ok thanks! That makes sense. Im going to try and handle one next time I get to the coast. Then I can have more specific questions if they come up.

So far tho Ive not been steered away at all.
There just arent that many rifles in that price range that have quick handling sporter style stocks and flush bottom metal that carries well in hand and those are requirements of mine.

Me too, I'm not a fan of extended mags on a hunting style rifle. I like the smooth bottom with hinged floor plates.
Not against them, just not on my hunting rigs.

I have a Ridgeline in 7MM Rem Mag and it's a keeper for sure. I bought mine about 6 years ago on sale for $1400 and I figured if I had to rebarrel I would do it. I broke mine in with 2 boxes of factory Hornady superformance 162 SST and it shot those well under an inch. Moved to the 168 Berger VLD and it stacked those in one ragged hole. Now this rifle has become my main hunting rifle as it shoots various copper bullets very well. I have had zero issues with the dual ejectors but just as Lance has mentioned it is kinda heavy on the bolt lift, mine has gotten better with age and I replaced the factory bolt nob to a bigger one to help with the lift. Both Blacktails in my avitar were shot with the Ridgeline this season at 617 yards less that 10 seconds apart. 2 shots 2 DRT kills!! Hope this helps, Jason

Agreed about the bolt lift, but its consistent. I'm able to detect anything heavier from pressure. But yeah, that's my only complaint.
I ditched the radial break asap. Went to a Area 419 three port self timing, still ear splitting, but doesn't create a dust storm when prone.
I was hunting for a freezer deer for a friend and shot a broken horned buck right at dark two days ago and forgot to put the muffs on. The crack when I fired made my only ear that still works ring.
