Well, because of that federal judge's ruling to place them back on the endangered species list, Wisconsin is approaching 1200 to 1500 over their stated goal of 400. Let the states manage their resources as originally intended.

I've always heard that was Wisconsin's way of controlling the deer/vehicle collision rate. Release the wolf to control the deer. Wise thinking......

I think I detect a note of sarcasm in there. Lol
Yes, that and giving out 3 doe tags for each license and selling undefined more at $3.00- $12.00 each.

You would think this would cause some to rethink their unsupported belief that "Canadian grey wolves" were somehow unable to migrate a couple hundred miles into the US Rockies. But I seriously doubt it will have that effect and they can go on believing that there was some mystery subspecies and the populations were kept separate by absolutely nothing.

Its a known and well documented fact that wolfs moved in from the Canadian border. There is a whole article on this in my local paper, front page.2/1720 Interlake. The lady that studied the wolfs back then,1979,stayed in my families cabin off the grid, which it still is and known still as Moose city. Part of ''Heavens Gate'' was filmed here also.Where I saw my first wolf many years ago.She went on to become Region ones wolf specialist, and just retired. She trapped over 100 wolfs, and a grizz, lion, and wolverine.Described as a tornato on chain.I grew up within 60 miles of said area, and saw wolf tracks as a highschool age in several areas, and went and viewed them in the big praire area of GNP, back then I thought it was cool. Now hmm...

People of this country are growing complacent, unappreciative. First world countries worry about if Apex predators are going to thrive regardless of the fact that they decicimate other species that actually generate revenues from sportsman. People of Third world countries worry about things like: if they are going to have something to eat today or the next day and the days after that. They don't necessarily focus lots of time and energy into making sure that Apex predators thrive in their neck of the woods. They worry about where their families next meal will come from and if they are going to be alive in the days to come. The things that some people are worried about in this country prove that many of us are spoiled. When the people of this country wonder where their next meal will come from, many of today's worrys will seem arbitrary.
