The wolf reintroduction has brought with it lack of knowledge of what the wolf brings to the table. The wolf is a killing machine that is a fact. The one subject that is not being discussed is the spread of diseases by wolves and how it enters the eco system. It is dangerous and fatal in some instances to animals and man. I have attached a website that has several videos about the reintroduction of wolves into Colorado. At the bottom is a video of a television program from the RFD channel. It provides information from ranchers, biologists and professionals that have had involvement with wolves. I encourage you to watch and pass it on.

I could really give a Rat's Rump about the story of a wolf's travels. But it did have a happy ending. It is interesting about how far it traveled. No idea they ranged so far.

OR-7 settled ~20 miles east of our place and started the Rogue unit. They have done a pretty good job of running our relatively small elk populations ragged. A local just picked up a wolf on his trail cam about 5 miles west of us. It's kind of amazing how much less wildlife you see when you go into an area where they are prevalent.

Were all those wolves released there or migrated there. I have never heard or read about releasing them in Or..

As the story goes, OR-7 went on a trek looking for a mate. The tracking collar shows that, into California and back starting in the John Day area I believe. He found a mate and started a pack in the Cascade range south of Crater Lake. Where that mate came from is speculation.
There have many confirmed sightings from the Diamond lake area south to the California border, into the Klamath basin and now west of hwy 62. There have been unconfirmed sightings SW of interstate 5.

God forbid, but wait till a wolf pack takes out a child or a hiker. The Ca coyotes are taking out pets on a regular basis and are finally getting some attention. When people say the need their guns to protect themselves from wolves, guess what?

That right they need to move the wolfs to S. California. I would suggest around Orange county, San Diego, Riverside, They could send Grizzly Bears too. There are some nice high ranging mountains and national Parks there in California. California killed out the last Grizzly bear around 1900 or so. and I don't see them putting up their hands saying send Grizzly Bears to California. They keep placing the Grizzly Bears all over Montana, and getting people ripper up on a regular basics. They need to Share the Wealth and place those two animals in different states to help the animals out.

Research the history of the "Center for Biological Diversity." Eco-terrorists of the first order and that report makes them sound like they're a benevolent semi-gov't entity, which they are most definitely not. From multiple reports the founder, or whatever he was, was such a personally vile person that I'm surprised that he's still alive. Even CBD couldn't deal with him and he's no longer part of their org.

As for Wolves moving into Calif. they tend to mysteriously disappear soon after crossing the border. I have a degrees in both Wildlife and Fisheries management. Since 1991 when Mt. lion hunting was banned in Calif. by the political initiative process. Collect enough public signatures anything can be put on the ballot. This is how the radical anti-hunting factions are circumventing the Dept of Fish and Wildlife biologists scientific research and data. Taking wildlife management away from the DFW and the general public voting emotionally will destroy all hunting in Califorina. Mt. lions have decimated the deer and big horn sheep populations and have run the wild hogs out of the area where I hunt. Pigs have for the most part relocated near residential and populated areas but they breed rapidly so are fairing better than deer and wild sheep. I have been hunting more out of state and inernationally than Calif for the past 5 years. I truly believe California hunting will go away in 10-20 years. Not all Californians are liberals, get away from San Francisco, LA, San Diego and Sacramento and the state is bright Red.

Or-7 was hauled down here in the back of a fish and wildlife pickup and turned out. The female that miraculously showed up was brought the same way. They didn't just strike out on there own and show up in the southern Oregon cascades Looking for mates like they want you to believe. They have caused nothing but death and turmoil to cattle, elk, deer and what ever else they can chase down.
