Chambering and ammo recommendations for first deer and hog hunt in central TX

If that is a 200lbs hog, I have been woefully under estimating my hog weights!
The black band also makes me think a close generation to the Hampshire breed.
I agree, a hit in the neck inline with the snout and below the ear is a DRT button!

I don't know why, maybe it's the phone angle, but every picture I take of a pig does it no justice. That's why I put my foot down there to give it some reference. I wouldn't believe it either if somebody showed me that picture. I've killed enough pigs and weighed enough pigs to get pretty darn close on weights......I'll give in a say 195lbs

Hogs aren't hard to kill at all when you dome them. That said, last year and this year I took several with a 6.5 shooting factory nosler 140 ballistic tips. I wouldn't over think them. Any reputable factory ammo should do the trick. See what the gun likes. I've killed piles of pigs with plain Jane cup and core bullets.

I will "guess" 301.274 pounds and emphatically state that she will not ever get any heavier!

I can recommend Norma Whitetail.
I used Ammo Inc. Accubond to drt a hog, but they are not available anymore. This year I will be trying Norma Tipstrike. All 6.5 Creedmoor
I would not hesitate to use Fusions either.
