Carbon vs. Fiberglass?

Look at the bottom of this page. This thread covers this topic in detail.

Thanks. Somehow I missed the conversation or perhaps slept since I read it.

Some interesting and enlightening observations pertaining to both. If the fiberglass actually mitigates felt recoil a bit more than does the carbon fiber…..that helps a bit with the decision for my wife's rifle.

I'd really like to get her a new carbon fiber, which is a much improved stock over her "mattel" plastic stock, but she will not consider a brake and is very resistant to the additional expense! And to add insult to injury……she hunts with a "push feed" Model 70 Win! memtb

I went carbon. But not because I know it is better, but because it is precived as being better and I've not compromised on any other parts. Sad. I may pick up the same stock in fiberglass for a budget build in the same cartridge. If so I will post my comparison. Sorry I can't make a first hand comparison for you. That is what I was looking for. Someone like Alex Wheeler could probably address the true differences, like recoil impulse, rigidity, strength etc.
