California hog hunting

I'm in CA also, and find wild pig delicious, but paying a guide and/or a fee to hunt private land is ridiculous. If the cost of the meat comes out to more than the grocery store, I don't see the point.

Venison is probably the most expensive meat on the planet but it's not the price that matters it is enjoyment you get from pursuing a sport you truly love

While I was stationed at McClellan AFB in Sacramento we went up to Indian Valley Reservoir. We saw a lot of hog sign but never saw any.
