Bumpstocks banned

I generally stay out of these political discussions, especially when it comes the 2A. But this is what I'm most troubled about - our President is showing that he believes that he can unilaterally limit or deny an individual's constitutional rights. I wouldn't object to heavier regulation of bump stocks but it should be done through proper channels or it shouldn't be done at all. I hope this ban as conceived does not survive the scrutiny of the court system.

Sorry for quoting myself but I forgot to add that what I find ESPECIALLY troubling is that this "ban" is essentialy an executive order requiring the seizure or destruction of legally-purchased personal property. Shameful and again I can't believe the courts will uphold this.

BTW folks. I believe the current "Workaround" for paying the tax on a SBR will eventually land some folks in hot water. Guvment don't like folks avoiding taxes. Remember, you read it here first!!!

Wish Trump had had the guts to do it with an EO like Obama did with DACA.

I didn't know this was a joke thread... But that's the best one I've ever heard! HAHAHAHA!!!

My personal opinion is more important that the NRA's. My personal inalienable and endowed RIGHTS are more important that what the NRA's opinion of them is. My rights are the same as your's as well. Think about that one. This "greater good" mentality is what has gotten majority of the world in deep ----. The whole "go along to get along" attitude is what caused Australians to lose their guns. The "greater good" thought process is what got the Brits and the French disarmed. The "greater good" thought train is what has led to sheeple embracing the EU and the UN and their plan to genocide whites with replacement migration.
Isn't the whole premise of Socialism based on the "Greater Good"

Bottle rocket. Mud has achieved liftoff. Congrats... good luck on the landing... it will be muddy at the best, most likely permanently damaging. I look forward to it. The joke is, and will continue to be, on you.

You think quite highly of you personal opinion. Everyone's opinion is equally valuable and equally worthless.

You should take your opinions and run for office with them. That'll be an honest to goodness HAHAHAHA. Collect a loyal following that shares your belief that your opinion is any more consequential than the majority opinion in our society. Then when you achieve your political success, you can force your minority opinion on the majority. Oooops... That was a typo. Not the way it works, thank goodness. Not gonna happen, no matter your opinion on the matter.

Look out below. I just crashed your landing. HAHAHAHA

Ouch. Good thing it's nothing more than your very simple opinion.
OK guys, no name calling. This gets into the divide into segments trap the wannabe overlords use to control us. We are all on the same side and each entitled to their opinion. We should always respect that and listen to each other. Ok to honestly disagree. Stick together. Please!

I have absolutely ZERO desire to ever run for any political office. My opinion is only worth something to me, which is why my opinion is more important to me, than the government's. When you start trying to regulate morality, that's when you've achieved 1984 status. This has nothing to do with the crappy pieces of plastic that they are banning. I could give a **** if they're banned or not. It's the precedent that this sets, and how it's being done that is the scariest part of this whole thing.

And the only reason the majority of people would possibly win in a vote on this, is because they only will know 2 things... 1) The words "bumpstock ban" and 2) What the media has told them about bumpstocks, which is a complete falsity and fabrication. Most of the average people didn't have a clue what they were then, and still don't, because the MSM stretched the false narrative about what they were and about how they "turn an AR into a machine gun"...Which is ********. Bumpstocks are the gun-grabbers most recent boogeyman to attack. If you think they'll stop there, enjoy that "greater good" until they come for all your guns, too...Even your bolt-actions and shotguns.

What's to explain? What is unclear?

Do you seriously think I'm referring to the US Bill of Rights?

What you consider your personal, individual "right" does not supercede the common good. Your right to set off fireworks, no matter how much you value that activity, does not supercede the threat they pose to burning down the neighborhood. Same with a campfire during an outdoor burn ban. What you perceive as your right can be outlawed, made illegal, by societal law in the USA. It's always been so. Always will be, without regard to any individual belief, opinion, opposition.

Pulling out your version and interpretation of the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights will not supercede societal/majority interpretation and application of those documents. I can't explain it any clearer.

Brass knuckles are illegal. Bump stocks will be in another 90 days. I am allowed to own an AR15. But not every weapon I think I have an individual 'right' to own, a personal right to own, can I legally own.

I'd like to own and have fun with plastic explosives. Without good cause and a multitude of licenses and permits, I never will. Unless I join the military.

Valid points, for individuals living in a communist or socialist society. Not a Constitutional Republic

Camp fires and fireworks are not enumerated in the Constitution, The right to keep and bear arms IS. And it is specifically enumerated that that right shall not be infringed (like a ban on bump stocks does). So if one follows the Constitution then neither bump stocks or brass knuckles should be banned.

BTW, you are not allowed own an AR-15, you have a RIGHT to own an AR-15.

Exactly, which is why I bet our adversary is watching this closely to see how much resistance we put up. If we don't make a big fuss they will feel emboldened to try to seize more terrain by ramming through even more draconian regulations.
