Bullet question, Hammer Bullets vs others

I would like guys to burn a couple hundred rounds shooting 5 shoot groups at .2g powder increments and then do seating depth adjustments in 5 shoot groups, because I would sell a lot more bullets, it is just not needed.

I'm your guy. My last order will be long gone before I hunt again or brag to my friends.

Your 6.5 130 grainers achieved 30" of penetration. Even the petles exited around the main exit hole on a 320 pound pig.

This is what I have been working on in Numbers so I can plot the Magnetospeed data at the range on my iphone. Working on several different graphs to visually break this down as well. This is only 3-shot strings but you can decide if 3 or 5 is what you want to do. An average will paint a more accurate picture to pick from than single shots for velocity.

Factory match ammo at the bottom for comparison.
Sorry, just got here. This looks like 6.5 Creedmoor data, correct?

Get some RL23 it's extremely temp stable. 51.5grains
Lapua brass
Berger 140vldh's
Fed210m primers
Set them .050 off the lands (yes your reading that correct .050 off)
2888fps in south Texas

this exact load was given to me by my boss Brad Stair in Utah said it's works in every 6.5-284norma he ever builds. It worked in my bosses and his friends, and it worked like a champ in my rifle never even had to do any load development it's literally the onlything I shot in my rifle till I went to the 156eol with H1000.

Haven't tried RL23 in my 6.5x284 but RL 26 is giving me 2795 fps from 24" bbl with 140 VLDs....3 shot groups attached. This is one of the few rifles I'm still using VLDs in......gone to Hammers in most of my other rifles. This one was just too good to mess with!

What weight hammers r u running? I would like to run the 139 hammer hunters! I'm current running the 156eol, but don't like how they perform of deer pincer in and blow out the other side, but man they shoot amazing here is my 100 and 200 4 shot groups. Getting 2890fps with the h-1000!

They don't "pencil in and blow out the other side"! They penetrate, shed their petals, create a devastating wound channel internally, then blow out the other side leaving a blood trail if necessary. I've only had to track one due to a poor shot by one of my sons.....the others have all been DRT! I'm shooting 44 gr in my 220 Swift, 98 gr in 257 Roberts and 25-06, 124 gr in 6.5CM, 121 gr in 264 WM, 131 gr in 280 Ackley, 143 gr in 280 Rem, and 181 gr in 300 Wby.

I have some 155 grain Absolute Hammers for 280 AI, 1-9 barrel . Is that going to work? Starting loads?
thanks
They will be on the marginal side of stability. I think they may shoot well but I worry about terminal performance on game with marginal stability. When bullets impact with a yaw they can have issues with proper expansion and straight line penetration. We will have a 9 twist bullet this week. Stay in touch, we will certainly get new bullets in your hands.

Brief bio.... I have a Cooper Jackson Hunter Long Range 6.5x284 (26" 1-8 twist). I've been playing with the Hornady 143 ELD-X, Berger 140 VLD and currently Berger 140 Elite Hunter. I bet I have 300-400 rounds down the pipe and nothing consistent to show. I have bought the best reloading dies I can (Redding Competition Dies, I ordered proper neck tension bushings for my Lapua brass (.002 neck tension) and I weigh my powder very meticulously to ensure the best consistency I can.
I recently thought I found what I've been after (sub 1/2" MOA) but I can't seem to duplicate load after load. I can shoot a 5 shot .3" group @ 100 but then I take it out to distance and can't hold together (maybe it's me.... I'm looking for a shooting mentor for this reason, 100% self taught on everything).
I can consistently load under 1 MOA but that isn't good enough for me.
I'm just getting frustrated. Everyone on this forum talks so highly of Hammer bullets, I'd like to give them a try.
My concern is, am I giving anything up going from a 140gr bullet to the 124gr Hammer Hunter?
My rifle is a hunting rifle but I haven't drawn a tag in 4 years (thanks ND) so I've been using this time to practice and shooting mostly paper and steel.

Thanks for your time, Dave

Ps, powders I currently have; Retumbo, H4350, H4831sc, IMR 4831, Varget
I don't think I read anything regarding your optics. What scope are you using ? Is your reticle picture clear ? Many times I've heard guys day they don't have a good clear reticle and groups suffered. Once they clear up the scope, good stuff happens.

I just had a rifle do this to me, it would vertical group like crazy. With any load. Put a cover on that can. The heat up with every round and as it does you are looking through a booking mirage. Once I covered mine the problem was gone. I had my wife make one with canvas and FR blanket that slipped on nice and snug.

Solid sub .5 moa is a pretty tall order for high end custom rifles, regardless of what you read on the internet about 1/4 moa all day 8 lb rifles. The guys that own those rifles should get out to a bench rest competition asap and become a legend.
Truer words were never spoken.

So I'm running a Cooper 92 in 6.5x284 with the 1:8 twist.

I found the 124 Hammer hunters to be great.

I also had great results with the Sierra Match Kings, but was concerned as I plan to hunt and the SMK's aren't a hunting bullets.

I just shot this yesterday...
