Bull Elk at 425 Yards with a 7mm-08

Was he using one of the target bullets or one from the hunting line of bullets?

I checked with my grandson, he said it was the 168 grain Match/HuntinHunting, BC .473.

I experienced the same thing with the 300WSM 175gn Berger VLD I hit my cow with, exactly as she did...very small entrance, blew out both lungs and zero exit wound!

The 7-08 was very popular when I was young in the silhouette crowd. It seemed to be a good balance between accuracy, efficiency, and enough power to knock down the ram plates at 600 yards. Many selected it for the mild recoil. It still makes a great choice.

Great Job! When I was using one I used 160 Partition and it would almost shoot stem to stern on Rosy's.
