building a rifle need help picking caliber

Depends what your looking for. Factory ammo? Brass availability? Quality brass? The 3 main 6.5s and 6mms are so close in performance that it's a wash.

I'm fully capable of reloading and fireforming brass

ATH it is a fun gun. No one else seems to want to own my 22-284 either. Been trying to sell it for a year now. I've only fired 50 rounds through it. Just never seem to use it. Might just screw the barrel off and build something else.

So I picked a rem 700 short action up at a gun show this morning whats the best 6mm or 6.5mm to build on a short action

.260 AI is still king of the non-magnum short-action 6.5's. It beats the Creed and standard .260 Rem by about 100 FPS.
