BOTW Divorces Berger & Marries Nosler

Only time will tell and the entire hunting community is watching. Hipe or not if people want the product they will buy it....no different than reality "shock" TV....those amused will continue to watch. I'm hoping the product isn't "shock" reality and the LRAB opens up new options. And the crystal ball says...To Be Continued. Dang it.

i got some today! :D

I am sure that the facts about the actual performance/capabilities of the AB's will show up shortly. The fact that the light 6.5 bullet got thrown into the LR mix made me suspicious about all claims.

I'll speculate a little bit. First is I'm confident the bc's are over promised , second is they will not perform well at 1300 fps and will not open much at that speed , third is that they are bonded core bullets and the accuracy lot to lot will vary a lot. Fourth is that they will get away with their marketing bs and sell a bunch of bullets. Fith is that BOTW will tell you they are shooting whatever they get paid to say they are shooting and they will actually shoot what works and you will never know.

So they have been using Barnes and Nosler and calling them bergers all these years?

Come on now Jeffrey! I know you are dying to shoot some accubonds!

Actually Mikey, I have nothing against Accubonds for their place where they work well. If their BC claims prove to be true, and they will shoot with a Berger at 1000 plus, I will give them a go. But I will wait for some reputable field results first.

I understand your thought, but its the one that I may have a niche for. For a "pure" LRH rifle a lot of folks prefer more than the 6.5's. The overall 6.5 market that includes semi-auto (me) and short action rifles with twist rates that won't support more. It might be better described as a "medium" range bullet on this site, but in the overall market may be the most successful of them all. If the shelves are still empty when Nosler ships these could be the best received bullets of all time. LOL!

You make a good point. Even the poll on "Longest distance game shot", on this site shows the game shot over 600 yards is a smaller number then I would have thought. When I first saw the 6.5 AB weight, my first reaction was that Nosler was responding to the 6.5 Creedmore/260Rem/Grendle shooters. Also, the 6.5 Hunting Berger in 140gr is a very tough act to follow for 1000 yard accuracy and terminal performance on game. I'm not motivated at all to change unless I was forced to by supply. If this shortage keeps up, my Sharps and bullet molds may have to be pulled out of retirement.:D
