BEWARE.....

Everyone was new at one point... and with record sales over the past couple of years, more and more new gun owners are searching for forums to join.

I'm pretty new here. I've done several deals already (bought and sold). Not everyone gives feedback, and I've seen on other forums where I've been a long time member, that most people don't like to give a negative feedback rating.

It just takes a little more due diligence to close out a deal and make sure it works out.

Putting up probation periods and high fees to post usually end up just keeping people off the forum and it eventually dies out because new members aren't joining.

Making high post counts a requirement, just causes people to post bump. I've seen new members hit 100 posts in a day by just commenting I agree on posts all over the place.

It's not an easy problem to solve.

When I purchase a firearm, I don't sell it ever. I have given them to my sons, at times, but that it. The stupid thing I did was to loan out 3 different firearms over the years. Two I really didn't care about, and 1 I did. It was stolen from a very good friend at the time of his death. It was my first Mag rifle. A Rem 721 in 300 H & H Mag with a 24" barrel. That where I started my reloading life. So the moral of the story is. If I am going to loan out a firearm, I am going with it except for my sons.

The hairs on the back of my neck are standing up on this one. The Last fella that done this to me was a Ukrainian. Tried to sell me a CZ evo. His Ukrainian accent chased and way of doing business chased me away right away. These people deal with Joe & Hunter obiden BE CAREFUL 😖
I think his porn star name gives him away :)

Might have been entertaining for you... but it was profitable for them.
He probably gave them the right address:
Jose Estupido Culero
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue
Washington, DC 00001

That's what I do when I feel like messing with scammers... Had one of those responding on a craigslist ads to me where I was selling something. The usual "I'll send a check, you cash it and pay my movers the extra" BS. He/she/it sent me a fake check overnight fedex. I told them I never got it or it was shredded/damaged. So they sent another, from get this, a different bank and organization. I also called and emailed the bank and organization the stolen check was from, and the FBI. Doubt anything ever came of it even though it was multiple felonies. They only bother to investigate if it's big dollars. Maybe I should've gotten the Postal Inspector involved...

My aunt in small town southern NM had an outgoing check for a utility bill stolen form her mailbox. They(not kidding) lined through the name and dollar amounts, wrote 'cash' and a bigger amount, and the idiot at Walmart cashed it for them! This is in a small farming community on I-10 of less than 20,000 people in it. Police didn't seem interested, store manager either.

Happy to see a good deal from anyone if legit (old or new member) but certainly the amount to rip-off/scams have increased. I use TexasGunTrader as well and recently found two separate guys selling a NIB $4000 Rifle for $1000. Both pulled down their adds after I provided my full name, address and phone and asked for same in return. Basically was certain it was not legit but entertained myself watching these guys go from "it's legit bravado" to "slinking away into the night".
Better yet - tell them to contact you at the local police/sheriff's office where you work...............

How about all the folks selling 20 and 40 year old primers for ridiculous amounts??? I see ammo older than that selling at the same ridiculous amounts. I only have to go to any gun show to have someone try to screw me out of my money. I bite my tongue and say nothing, but it is so hard to stay quiet. I got taken on AR15.com. Seller had a couple hundred positive feedbacks, and no negatives. He took a lot of pictures. He neglected to show areas with issues with careful photography angles. I asked if the gun had import marks, he said NO. He neglected to say they had been peened out. There was a bad bruise on the stock. Someone had actually scratched the caliber into the wood with what looked like a nail. Of course none of this was photographed!! I went to the moderator. I had all the pics, all the conversations, and my pics of the problems. THe moderator ruled against me, saying, you expect an old gun the have defects. And I pointed out the seller said it was perfect. I now believe the two were friends. I only lost $525. I have not bought a single gun online since. Not every scammer is online.
