Best quality gunsmith screwdriver set

Sometimes I need an actual fixed screwdriver, and not a bit holder type.
For that I have the Forster set (Brownells has one too)

It is getting hard to find a basic bit holder type that doesn't have some funky ratchet built in.
For a good, basic bit holder type screwdriver I like the Klein or the Brownells.
Then buy whatever tips/bits you need from Brownells (or get the kit).

Tis true, Master! The Chapman brand (and others) has a set screw in the receptacle to remedy a "bit" of this slop! Works nicely in most instances!
I felt the ire and wrath of my father many times for using his smithin' screw drivers as multi-tools in my youth! They worked well for pry bars, punch sets, gasket scrapers, and other various uses on my dirt bikes!
Oh boy, I wish I had just half that set today!

'Nother vote for Brownells.
Huge array of tips, makes it much easier to get a proper match to the screw head.
I have Bondhus as well.

Brownell has multiple screwdrivers. Which is best for fine blades? I want for this sidelock.

While Brownells screwdrivers might basically fit your sidelock, you will be better off with a great turn screw usually made in England.

for most of my uses it has been the Brownell's Kit and Forster Drivers. Fix-It Sticks has the softest tips I have ever used. Many of mine have been replaced. I haven't had to replace any of the others.

I totally get the frustration with tools breaking on you. I've been there myself. For the best driver set, I'd highly recommend BP Swiss tools. These are hands down the best hand tools I've ever used. They're 100% Swiss made, and the quality is just top-notch.

This is what I use. Love it! The screw driver has a built in LED ring that shines on your work if you need it. So far the bits have been solid. Torque wrench is simple to use. I'm a Real Avid tool fan. Have their master AR gunsmith kit and bench vise. Just a side note, there solvents work well. Not a fan of their proprietary cleaning jags, but like their bore brushes.

You couldn't give me a set of anything Grace. It's Brownells or Apex if they are available. You will distort either long before you ever break one.

You really don't know stubborn until you try to remove one of these insufferable bastidges

It's like how do we take a poor design and make a person reconsider their life choices when they need to remove it
