As a long time owner of a 7STW they achive speeds that would be popping the primer on an 7mm mag. I never recovered a 7mm 175 SPBT from a deer or elk. They were drop dead on the spot. bullet pass through.
I have owned the 30-378 weatherby. I only shot the 210, 220, 240 gr. They were drop dead on the spot. bullet pass through.
IMO the 30 utra mag is much more practical. But you need the 28 or so barrels
The 30 WSM is a good choice. I might get flamed, but I never liked the 7mm or 300 win mag
