I began IBS competition shooting with a used rifle in 6ppc. Then I began shooting in local groundhog matches (SIMILAR TO BENCHREST) where there are various classes of rifles. In out of the box factory class, the most popular rifles are Savage in .223 or 6mmBR. So - before you buy a gun, investigate the class you wanna shoot in; talk to others and then decide.

Savage arms web site says the rifle weighs 4.02 kg..... without rings or scope.
