Best 28 Nosler Round

I killed two elk with the 168gr Berger VLD. 340 yards and 2850 fps. Neither bull took more than a few steps. I've shot elk and javelina and everything in between with similar success.
The 168vld is not a bullet to overlook. We have moved on from them but honestly i do not know why. They have flat out worked for decades for us. Great choice!

Not the 28, but 7 prc. The ABLR has been excellent for me. I'm going to try the 180 hybrid and VlD in my 28 once it's finished.

Picture below is 175 ABLR on approximately a 250lb. Have killed out to 605 with the bullst. Great performance. Factory loads from Choi e ammunition.

I was going to ask about velocity on the 195's but it looks like what I have found around 3000 is a good spot for the 195's out of the 28. Once my RUM is done I may go to the 28 Nos. I think I have to shoot a 230 Berger or the 215 for comparable energy and at some good velocity to keep up with the 195's. With the 26 pixie dust it will do it just hard to find that stuff.

If you have the twist rate for the 195 EH the 169 HH will also work. I shoot both in my 28N, both very accurate and both very fast.
The 195 over H1000 at 2968 fps is death on South Tx Nilgai. Anything that kills Nilgai quick and clean has great terminal performance.
Haven't killed anything with the 169 HH but terminal performance for those bullets is well known. And at 3238 fps over N570 it is definitely a killer!!

What barrel length are you running

Have you shot the 180s before out of the 28?
Yes, the 180 VLD-H. I don't know that I have the speed recorded for that load, but I do know that my best group was 3 bullets all touching in a clover leaf pattern. I didn't go forward with that load as the 169s and 195s were what I was looking to load.
I have been considering a load for the 175 EH, but haven't done anything on that. My 7SS shoots them lights out, so don't really need to cross that over to the 28N.
Also, thinking of the 160 Accu-Bond for the 28N. It will scream and that bullet is well known for its performance. But then again.........why???? LOL
