Berger to introduce 7mm 195 gr EOL Hybrid Hunting Bullet

Lefty...I order a box of the 195s. I just enjoy this reloading so much I though lets see what they do in my factory Sendero 7STW. While we shoot paper at 1600 feet most of my hunting that I would use this load is at 4000 plus. I know I would be just below the stabilization recommendations with my 1:9 barrel here in ND but it would be fine in WY and CO on hunts.

It would have to do as good as the 180s do now which is .5 MOA out to 500 yards which is the best shooting I have ever been able to do.

Shot a cow elk in WY last week just behind the shoulder and it is always amazing the total internal destruction that happens with these bergers and not an once of meat wasted.

Does anyone have any load data for the berger 195 for 7mm rum powders I have are retumbo, reloader 25,us869,50 bmg and 7828 ssc Would like a starting point for any of these powders. Hope I can get some help here Thanks

Here is what I got yesterday with a 7 RUM by Dan Glover of Dan's Custom Guns, 30 inch Brux, 1/8 twist, .005 off the lands, CCI 250s, Nosler brass, Reloader 33, magneto speed, 195 Bergers, one ragged hole at 100 yards as I tested the last 4 powder charges during barrel break in.

89 gr - 3075
90 gr - 3037
91 gr - 3107
92 gr - 3101
92.5 gr - 3128
93 gr - 3166 may have seen very slight ejector blemish, no heavy bolt lift
93.5 gr - 3162 no pressure signs
94 gr - 3172 no pressure signs
94.5 gr - 3196 no pressure signs

The 4 shots from 93 - 94.5 gr created a one hole group at 100 yards with a shoot and clean break in routine. These were the first 9 shots fired in this gun. Dan sure turns out some mighty fine rifles. Your gun may pressure up differently so please start low and work up.

I am interested in hearing what others are getting with this combination of Rl 33, 195 Bergers and 7 RUM.

why didn't you just ask for a few?

I like my load with rl33 and the 195's, but retumbo may be a choice too in your rifle, as it seems to like retumbo already...

If they work, shoot them, if they don't, you know my phone #... We should get out and toss a bit of lead soon anyway... I'm getting an itchy trigger finger... I haven't shot anything in a couple of weeks...

im338,
This is what we have for the powders you have listed. All of these loads are based on a cartridge overall length of 3.759 in.
Retumbo - start=79.5gr , MAX = 83.9GR. Approximate velocities - 2676 to 2799. 90% fill ratio
US869 - start = 89.5gr , MAX = 94.3GR . Approximate velocities - 2654 to 2805 . 95% fill ratio
H 50BMG - start- 86.0gr, MAX = 90.4gr. Approximate velocities - 2681 to 2829 . 96% fill ratio
The only ALLIANT POWER we list is RE-50
start = 88.0gr , MAX = 92.7GR . Approximate velocities - 2696 to 2847 . 92% fill ratio.

I've been playing the 6.5mm game as of late... Although Id LOVE to see some 160 or 170 EOLs for the 6.5, and load data for the 26 Nosler.
Talk about a scary BC...
