1800 is what I like for moose
I've never killed beyond 500 so experience is limited. I use a personal threshold of 2000 based on bergers 1800 for a margin of safety.
That's enough for 800 yards at sea-level and 1k at 7000 feet with the 230. More than enough for nearly all hunting I see in my future. The 215 would be very similar if not identical.
