Bats are by far the most used action in my shop. You can't do better. You said dual port, you have 2 options that will run both of those cases. If you want a stock designed for a remington, order a dual port HR with both bolts. If you want a BR style stock or McMillan A5 BR tang, then go with a M or CT with both bolts. PM me if you want a CT.

I am seriously considering the Bumblebee for a quality hunting rig. I can get one now, but it has the wrong bolt face. Normally, opening a bolt face is a fairly simple operation unless these action have special qualities that would make this a poor option? The other option is to order direct and wait most of or more than a year. I hate to spend $1700 on an action and have to pay to have it modified, but this modification is generally small. However, it may need the handle and fire control timed anyway, so opening the bolt would be possibly a modest alteration??

You need different feed rails for a standard vs a magnum. In my case I am running a Wyatts cfe center feed box so the feed rails are not used. I never use feed rails in magnum actions. The vampire magnums actions come with a cfe 9 (4") mag cut.

So maybe the Bumblebee isn't a good choice for an SAUM build?

You cant open up the bolt face on a bolt with a sako or mini 16 extractor because the extractor is cut to the depth for the original case. And if it has the wrong bolt face it also has the wrong feed rails. The bumblebee wont need handle or timing work. You just need to buy the correct action otherwise your getting into a can of worms. I do prefer a long action or mid length for the saum but you can squeeze them into a short.

I'm waiting on both barrels and one stock but the rest of the parts are with me for my first Bat builds. I'm super excited to have these put together.

I have been in the shop a few times and the guys at Bat have been great to talk with. Just wish getting a vampire was in the cards for me.

BAT bolt faces are interchangeable. You dont need to machine, just swap the bolt face out. Magnums should be ready soon.

My apologies. I know the vampire is as i ended up swapping mine. Seemed like most of the bolts i saw on their counter looked similar. I am not familiar with their HR actions however

The Igniter is going to be a short barreled 6mm dasher built for varmint hunting with the suppressor always on and the wife's deer hunting rifle.
The Bumblebee is going to be another 300 Sherman Short.

I know they did say the Bumblebee is also able to change the bolt face/body out. They showed me how to do it during one of my visit to the shop but cant remember for sure. As with Nevrsummr, I am not familiar with the HR.

Sounds like a couple great builds!! A bat won't be too far in my future either I don't think. Been really debating a vampire 270 wsm build,
