Barrel Pics

I know diddly about interpreting what I see. New Savage 6.5 Creedmoor barrel. About 25 rounds down the pipe. Is the black next to the lands just the barrel finish? I think it's a parkerized barrel. Patches come out clean. Barrel is rough as a cob but shoots well. Never looked at a new barrel before and didn't look before I shot it. First pic is about 3" from chamber. Second is about half way down. Thanks for any insight
