I have no issues with my Teslong scope. You need to adjust the mirror in and out to focus then lock it down. It's not as good as a $400 scope but it's good for $50. Mine was $45 on Amazon.
Not sure of grouping but he was happy with two shots and always gets one flyer.Damage aside, How does it group?
I have seen much worse group extremely well.
Yes. This looks like a strong culprit. Given an arbor for .22—270 and this barrel is a .243 it could well have been it.To echo several people but adding a link, I'm guessing he paid to get a scope mounted, and someone used this:

Does the gentleman reload? Try this….Decap, trim a batch then weigh the cases. Pick 5 "good ones" shoot a group with those. HTHNot sure of grouping but he was happy with two shots and always gets one flyer.
OP said the damage is at the muzzleAbout 3 inches. There are actually about six of these over about an inch and a half linear distance in barrel Some worst than others
I agree with 26Reload that it doesn't seem to be a factory fault. I have to ask: Does he, by any chance, shoot the same exact ammo/load all of the time? These all seem like likely scenarios that could have caused this.
Thanks again everyone for all your input. Any other thoughts are also welcome!
I think those spuds are aluminum.I doubt they could cause this, but you never know. The distance from the bore is about the same as the spud on a Bushnell bore sight attachment I Don't use mine any more for fear of doing what I see on this bore if you put the wrong cal spud in you could do this this may or may not be the issue but if this rifle is bore sighted this way it very well could be the culprit
It's 3" from the muzzle not from the chamber -- the other end of the barrel. LOLBut isn't the bore diameter consistent all the way through the barrel? Why would something stop at this spot? My first thought was a chamber bore guide for a caliber way below this one allowing the bore guide to go into the bore itself instead of stopping in the chamber. Then it was rotated to lock in. Mine rotates then locks against the bolt notch.
That I don't know.I agree with 26Reload that it doesn't seem to be a factory fault. I have to ask: Does he, by any chance, shoot the same exact ammo/load all of the time?
No they are stainless steelI think those spuds are aluminum.I doubt they could cause this, but you never know.
