You can use a different wind meter but a non BT one won't put it into a calculator for you. The biggest advantage for RF binos with ballistic solver would be the speed. If you're solving wind in a separate step it would be counter productive. Imo
Some devices, you might have to manually input the wind, but on a lot of binos like the vector x, and vortex AB, you can connect to a kestrel w/ Bluetooth. I'm not sure of what the compatibility is on these devices with non kestrel wind meters.
The vector x's app set up is exactly like the kestrel AB app. I think, and it might be because it's new, that there was less PDM profiles, but most guys don't have exact gun builds as a one of those profiles so I reckon it wouldn't matter to 99.9% of people.
So, basically the binos can be faster and just as accurate if you have the right equipment. However, just a kestrel elite is more simple, and less expensive.
A big thing we use binos for, like vector 21s in .mil/.gov can be for ranging and spotter rolls since there is a reticle in there with big spacing for like mover speed and vehicle interdictions. The vector x has one too, that's a little more usable, if you want to get a different magnification. It's starting to make its way into PRS already.
