Garmin products have been overpriced for as long as I can remember. Are they good, maybe. But IMO the snobs in this industry are too stubborn to admit that and will continue to look down on anyone who doesn't stand in line to pay too much like they have. Even if this Athlon was as good or even better at half the price, guys will still bag on it because they have status.

Your chrono sucks because it's not Garmin
Your reloads are junk because you don't use an AMP
Your brass is a joke because its.not lapua
You can't find any animals without swaro
Your scope is garbage cuz its not Tangent, March, ZCO, S&B....

Until someone else is paying your bills I'd say "dip ****" on baby. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

My labradar broke so I tore it down and jb welded the radar unit back into the case. Works like a champ again. No garmin on my bench! Still 100x better then the old light chronos

Has anyone compared the old style chronos to the new Garmin and lab radar for speed . just how accurate is each?
Another question, can you set it up beside the highway and Freek out people with radar detectors in their cars?

According to the specs of the Labradar LX you can add shots to a previous series, is this correct please?

I am going to wait a couple more months for the range finder, atmospheric conditions, chronograph with ballistic calculating shooting glasses to come out

I waited a long time to upgrade my old sky screen chronograph, I was going to do a Magneto, but do not like hanging stuff off the barrel, then was going to purchase a lab radar, but I had read a lot of people having issues lining it up and missing shots. This past year, decided to give myself a present and purchased the Garmin, based on reviews and not missing shots, I am glad I did, it is great, but at the same time I almost went with the new Caldwell for 100.00 cheaper. If I had not purchased the Garmin, I would definitely purchase the Athlon based on price point just to save the extra 250.00 and it basically looks like a Garmin. Hopefully, the first runs will be as reliable as the Garmin, time will tell. Glad to see another company in the mix with same technology.

Well that is my issue. I often see the new coming and sell my old off at a discount to get the next guy going, but I've screwed up here, I guess. These Labrador's aren't worth much used and they get $600-$700 for state of the art!

My Labrador works pretty much flawlessly. I say pretty much because occasionally I have to adjust a setting when a braked boomer sits next to me, but that is rare. …..or occasionally I forget to arm it, Sometimes I forget to aim it at the target and it still picks up the shot!

So, it is easy to measure velocities, it is accurate, it is in a carry case…I'm struggling to drop money until it breaks now.
