A firearms dealer I know locally here in the UK told me a Magnetospeed chronograph wouldn't fit over a JET-Z sound moderator / suppressor, so I repeated it. The ones I've seen look too small to fit over anything other than a rimfire moderator. Personally I've never bothered with a chronograph. I simply take an educated guess at velocity by running it through STEROK PRO, check drop from 100 yards to a far greater distance be very precise with temperature,, elevation etc, and true the velocity that way.Are you basing this off experience or just what you've heard? I've had no issues with my suppressors but would like you to clarify for the sake of the many others who might look at this thread trying to make an informed decision.
Which magnetospeed do you have? V3 or Sporter? Or older maybe...What do you mean by it will not fit? How big is your suppressor (OD)?

It's all very well having a chronograph that clamps over the barrel, but I really can't imagine the barrel harmonics aren't vastly altered so what's the point anyway
Both need consideration, as some manufacturers, such as Hornady and Nosler, allegedly exaggerate their figures.I never thought of changing the BC to match the drop. Should I be doing that instead of changing the velocity?
