I've owned a sub 400 round barrel gun. They become a pipe dream when mine was ready for it's 3rd 30 inch barrel. I sold it to someone who needed it

This works if you can get a blank made for it. Probably have to slow the twist down some for the little pills but I am sure it will feed.

The 22 LRV is the brainchild of WTO gunsmith Jonathan Rubio. Jonathan was in search of a high performance .22 centerfire round that would serve as the ultimate long range coyote cartridge, but with better barrel life than the existing big .22's such as the .22-250AI and .22-6mm. The 22LRV thus was born, and has hit the ground running. The cartridge uses a 30 degree shoulder angle and a neck that is approximately .050" longer than the .22-250, which allows for more powder burn in the neck of the case instead of the throat of the barrel. This translates into longer barrel life, and the case design makes it very efficient.
Velocities are impressive too; we've seen speeds of 3400 FPS with the 90 grain Berger VLD in barrels in the 26" range. With the 80.5gr Berger Fullbore or 80gr AMAX, velocities in excess of 3500FPS are easily achievable. The throat for the 22LRV chamber has been specially designed to make the most of case capacity, and gain maximum accuracy from the heavy for caliber .224 bullets currently available. We recommend the Berger VLD and Fullbore styles, and have also had great results with the Hornady AMAX. The new 77gr Tipped Match King from Sierra has also proven to be an excellent choice for this cartridge. It runs well at 3500FPS and above, with superb accuracy and very impressive terminal effects on thin skinned game and varmints. With the upcoming release of Hornady's new .22 caliber ELD Match bullets, this cartridge will only get better.

The parent case is the 6mm XC, and factory Norma 6XC brass works very well. The brass can be sized to final dimensions for the 22LRV in one step, and no fireforming is required. Because of the body taper and shoulder of the case, the 22LRV can feed from any .308 Winchester sized magazine, and will feed reliability in an AR .308 platform rifle.

I'm going to try and send a couple pics of my " .22-35 Remington " wildcat...
The shinier cartridge shows my favorite bullet for use w/ a high velocity .224" calibre wildcat; when shooting
" Soybeanus Digestus ". The bullet is Hornady's superb 55SX, and it is shown seated .125" into the neck.
This cartridge combo was shot from a 24" SS Hart 1-14 5-groove.
The case w/ the satin finish has looked that way for 40+ years, since using Birchwood Casey " Case Bright " on it.
The bullet shown seated is a custom 52gr HP that was made by Ron Fifer of Decatur, IN using Remington 52gr HP pattern dies. When shooting this grain wt, I could completely fill the case w/ IMR 4350, have great accuracy; and safe pressures.
I also ran the .22-35 Remington in a 28" SS K & P 1-8 5-groove, shooting Hornady 75"A"-Max exclusively.
I have a letter from P.O. Ackley dated 10 Apr 1975, wherein he gives comment on my .22-35 wildcat's design.
Ackley stated... " The .35 Remington should make a good .22 calibre cartridge when necked down to take the smaller bullet . "
My favorite .224" calibre round for anti-groundhog use.

The AR10 can be a bugger to feed and cycle in any Caliber. They are Finicky. They are not like the AR15 ,Smooth as Silk.
I've built several AR10's and the
6mm Creedmoor Caliber was the
Easiest to tune right out of the gate.
So the 6mm Creedmoor would be my suggestion for you to build.

On up. The Sierra 85 grain Gamekings We're my Favorite Go to Varmint Smacker Bullet from Coyotes to Feral Hogs.

Next question would have to be Why an AR10? Why not an AR15 in .204? Gives you everything you are asking for with trajectory, is more fur friendly, lighter to tote, and most of all.... Already available....
Fur friendly = FMJ. My favorite hole puncher without blowing out the backside. Best feeding bullet for ARs. FMJ in 22cal is easy to find, but 24cal is nonexistent. Maybe a copper only without the plastic tip or a hollow point. I have a 243win in AR10 that feeds perfect. Sierra discontinued their 90gr FMJ, but I bought plenty while I could. The bullet can be as much of an issue as the case can. Neck down a 243win and call it good! Longer case, fill less, burns more in case less in throat and screams light weight bullets.

So my thinking is that the larger platform would give me larger powder volume for a small projectile for speed. I have a couple 15's that have moderate 22 cal chambers that i play with already. I can get faster with a 20 cal, but still not easily over that 4500 fps mark.
I guess the gun build is more of a science project and a conversation point when the guys get together for a night hunt. It will not be the only gun i run and if long walks are in the plan, it will stay in the truck/at home.

What if you take a 22Nosler and neck it down to 20cal? Should operate just fine in an ar-15 and a 24 inch barrel should easily achieve 4500 fps with 32 grain bullets.

OK if you want a real fire breather on an AR 10 contact one of the guys on the web that converts them to the WSM's. Then get him to build you one on the SAUM case necked to 6mm or even .22. Have him chamber you up a couple of extra barrels while he is at it. Should give you your 400 point blank, but you will have to play around with monos if you don't want the bullet to skin it for you.
