Anyone try staball 6.5 in a .270 win yet?

Send it to me before you start your BBQs with it. I'll cover the ride and throw in a little extra. I'm ok with the 400 yd groups, StaBAL outshoots me. 😊 I will admit it took a bit longer to dial in vs Varget, etc.. but it's 200 fps faster than anything else I've run.

This is a great read. I've been running StaBall for about 4 years in a 6.5 plinker, but am getting ready to dial up a custom load for a buddy's 30-06 and as luck would have it his .270 is sitting right here in my office too.

52.1gr SB65, cci200, new Nosler Brass and Accubond 150 produced the winning group in a ladder test on a Tikka T3x with 22" 10T Barrel. Will twist up 10 and confirm with Chrono and report back. No pressure signs at any load up to max recc (52.4)...

I just started working on a .270 load with StaBALL. So far, so good...

Ruger American bone-stock rifle.
140gr SST, CCI200, Win brass.
Ran a Satterlee from 54.0gr to 56.0gr in .2 gr increments. Zero pressure signs, will likely try to get my magic 3100fps out of it.
Best nodes were:
2951, 2950 & 2951 at 54.2, 54.4 & 54.6grs.
2979, 2976 at 55.0, 55.2grs.

Velocities ranged from 2945 to 3065, no wild jumps or dips.

Satterlee data =
2945
2951
2950
2951
2968
2979
2976
2999
3042
3056
3065

Some of these weights are above published MAX for a different projectile via Hodgdons web data.
Data currently sucks...I'm just glad I found a use for this powder. It did not perform as well as H4350 or VitN555 in my 6.5 CM LR setup.

Best of luck and hope this helps.
How did this work out? I'm currently trying to work something up with 6.5 StaBall and 145 Gr ELD-X in a CVA Cascade. Any recommendations?
