Is anyone running a 7mm-08 with a 1-8" twist? If so what weight bullets are you shooting? I have one in 1:9" and it shoots 140's great, and I have a 1:11" that shoots the 120's great. I am hoping to shoot 162's at 1000 yards. I know I know I could have done that with a 1:9" but I have a 1:8" I ordered a while back that hasn't shown up yet and I am hoping it shoots the 140 to 175's.

I have a 7 mm – 08 AI and my 7 mm SAW… Both in a one and eight twist. I primarily shoot 162 and 168. I shoot 140 grain nosler ballistic tips Out of the 7SAW with no issues.

It is not about bullet weight, it is about bullet length, plastic tip length, and velocity; with bullet length being driven by lead core with jacket vs. mono-metal for a given weight and bullet design (e.g. VLD vs. traditional) for example a a 160 grain Hornady CX will not stabilize in 1:9 @ 2700 fps but 162 Cup/Core BTSP will and a Berger 168 will also.
