After dinking with the Grendel for a while and seeing the new 25-45 Sharps for AR15's I got to thinking about trying a 223 Remington necked up to 6mm/.243 and setting it up for 90-100 grain bullets. I think a 90 grainer could be pushed to about 2950-3000 fps out of a AR.
I like the Idea of the Sharps using identical bolts and mags but think the longer leaner bullet in the 6mm would be more conducive to longer range efficiency. It also doesn't give up bolt strength like the PPC based AR cartridges.
