Glad it worked for you. Looks good. How many passes with the 40 grit and what grit emory cloth

I didn't really count passes. I was preoccupied with trying not to chew up the carbon fiber. I had it taped but was eating the tape up by the edge. Emery cloth says P180. Took a pic.

Can you post a couple more pictures, from what I can see it looks awesome

Thanks. I like how it turned out. Lathe was set at 335 RPM.

Looks good next to the carbon fiber pattern. I'm getting up the nerve to do a new 25 Creedmoor barrel that is bead blasted

If it doesn't turn out can always sand it back and bead blast again.
