Announcing the New Hammer HHT

Steve - we appreciate you putting the HHT out for people to try before having the machinery ready for production. Options are always a good thing. Some will wait and continue to use the HH and AH and some will do DIY install on HHT.

The passion of some of our Hammer bullet enthusiasts sometimes boils over. A comment or possible suggestion for improvement does not require a full on attack or discrediting of the member's intentions. I personally use HH and recommend them to people I know. Most of these people see the vapor trail and that is when the conversation starts. I guess the vapor trail will be absent in the HHT.🤔

I'm addicted to speed. The 75grs HHT 243W easily loade to 3600fps? Holy Sheep dip, gotta get some of those! Wonder what they'll go in a 243AI chamber!! Makes me shiver just thinking about it!
Holy sheep dip? Never heard that one before but gonna use it later and see if my wife thinks it's as funny as I do now 🤣

I too like to see how fast we can go. The untipped 75 grain 257" hammer hunter I've cranked to 4170 FPS in a 24 inch 257 weatherby. THATS FAST!!! But horribly inefficient when I consider y'all could get within 500-600 FPS of me with a lot less powder.

I have a quarter bore barrel I won on auction stashed away for a few years down the road when hopefully I have a little more spending money and can put together a wildcat or just do a long 257 bee. It's a 32 inch bartlein.

Thinking either a 257 stw, 25-300 wby (easy neck down from 6.5-300 brass which Peterson makes now) or if I'm feeling extra stupid a 25 rum/257 Allen something like that. Or just like I said see what the .257 weatherby does in a 32 inch pipe. Or a 25-.28 Nosler. Or…oh never mind you get the idea 🤣.

But of those the 25-300 weatherby is absolutely what I'm leaning most towards.

@ButterBean, @Muddyboots, @Gingerman, my fellow velocity freaks…I figure you'll get a kick out of this project if I ever actually am able to make it happen. How fast do y'all think a 32 inch 25-300 weatherby might crank a 75 hammer. Or 90 grain absolute out?

25/300Norma Imp aka 25Stalker 32" bbl 75grHH = ~4400-4500fps

The only cartridge worth upgrading to imo to see a real gain in performance over your 24" 257Bee

90gr AH would be my choice, I've tested them both.
Cool! Do you happen to have one of these stalkers? That's another one of Kirby Allen's creations isn't it?

Prolly gonna stick with the .53" bolt face cartridges but who knows?

Interesting how some felt Hammer's lack of a tip was problematic, and the addition of one didn't satisfy.

I would venture that many of those asking for a tipped version did not envision themselves having to insert the tips, regardless of how much or little time is involved in the process.

I've bought a few boxes and installed - it really doesn't take that much time, but it's not something I love to do either. I'm looking forward to when they install in house.

Legitimate customers, can have legitimate complaints. I respect those.

There are those that aren't using Hammer's, and won't use them regardless. Other than an opportunity to continue on as usual.

Dig them long barrels, too! Free Velocity!

I like your style

Yes it's Kirby's and I don't have one, just a guesstimate. I don't blame you on the bolt face.
I'm hoping they tip the 90gr Absolute Hammer. I may have to try some 6mm HHT's, plus I want one of those copper blocks.
