Maybe the perfect Hunting scope, and the price is amazing. I wish I could justify another scope.
That's a scope I haven't played with yet, how's the eye box, does it tunnel at all at 18x? Haven't heard much about their durability or tracking .For a hair over 1k I really don't think the xtr iii can be beat. The fov is incredible and glass is stellar. Maybe a little heavy to be lugging around but the 3.3-18x50 isn't terrible. Definitely not vortex razor gen 2 heavy. I think its probably one of if not the best deal available in that price range at the moment.
Eyebox is pretty good at 18, little finicky but not as bad as other optics I've used. I've noticed zero tunneling with mine and a friend's. Both have tracked very well. They are built like tanks so I cant really see them not being tough but time will tell. I've read that the 5.5-30 has a little sharper image but I can't confirm, haven't looked through one yet. The 3-18 is excellent so I'm not sure the 5.5-30 could be much better glass wise. I would have no problem switching out the nxs on my trg42 with one of these, and may well do so soon if an atacr doesn't take its place. That's a scope I haven't played with yet, how's the eye box, does it tunnel at all at 18x? Glass on my Arken is not the same quality as my Zeiss scope but it is good glass.Ok I'm love my NXS for it holding zero and tracking. So I'm wondering if there is a cheap option out there that tracks and hold zero well. I know I will have to sacrifice glass quality going to cheaper glass. I can deal with lower quality picture just want the durability!
Worth repeating as far as this thread goes..Come on fellas he said cheep which means well under 1000
