Affordable adjustable scope?

I'm Old School. I still use Leupold Mark 4s.
The one I bought twenty or so years ago I have confidence in, the newer one I bought last year the jury is still out on that one, it just does not appear to be the same quality as my old one. I bought it and put it on a 243 that I was going to try to shoot 100 plus grain bullets at a little more distance than the 85's it likes, and I never could get the rifle to shoot them accurately; so to be honest I haven't had the opportunity to put it to the test, but from aesthetics, to the click adjustments, to the flimsy caps that came with it, I'm just not as impressed as I am with the old scope.

Leupold VX5HD 3-15, Leupold Mark 5 3-15, Vortex Razor HTR 3-15, Athlon Ares ETR, Athlon Cronus Gen 2/3, There are a few older used Schmidts and NF out there that might be available for your $1500.00 budget, but buyer beware. The Schmidts may not have any warranty left. That said, they are great scopes and turn around for repairs or just general maintenance is quick. You won't find any new Schmidt with the features you want for 1500 and there are no decent options for that budget in NF (NX8, Atacr are the only one I would consider. The NX8 is perfect for what you want but is 2K+) If this is primarily a hunting scope I would seriously consider the Leupold VX5HD 3-15. They have several reticle options and can be had for around the 1K mark. If this is a range toy I would look at the Athlon Cronus or a Mark 5 3-15. Both of those options will run you around $1500 or a little more. All of the above options are quality well made scopes with the features you described and great glass and warranties in your described budget. There are tons of other options out there from Lieca, Zeiss and others but imo the Leupold or Athlon may serve you best and keep you in budget. Blessings
