Actual difference between 6.5 creedmoor and 6.5x55 with RELOADS??

I am about to do load development on a 6.5x284. I will use RL26 and see when I find pressure. The barrel is factory and only 22 inches so it won't be a great comparison. Enjoy the 25x47. I am thinking 25sst will fill my need in the quarter caliber class.

I'm running close to 3200 with the 131s in my 25-284. I still don't know if I'll do a 25creed of a 25x47 to go with it. I was being sarcastic on my last post about not wanting a 25creed

Hmmm that might be cheaper than the sst route. What powder and brand of brass? I hadn't considered the 284 case for the 131

Lapua brass and RL26. I ran it over 3200but was getting occasional shine. I think Retumbo would be fine at 3200 plus but the accuracy wasn't as good as RL26

Thanks for the info, it's something to consider. Can you fit it in a short action? I would assume no but some ppl run 284s in short actions

I built mine on a long action. I don't think you would wanna build a 25-284 on a short action unless you wanted to run 75-100 grain bullets.
