A Serious Question

Maybe I'm looking at your question wrong but to me a group size at 100 yds tells you what your margin for error is. The cold bore POI is far more important for a hunting rifle. If you have a really good shooter and a 1.5 moa rifle you should be able to hit a 10" plate at 600 yds just about every time. Conversely, if someone can shoot a tight group off a bench but can't do it in the wild, it doesn't matter. I'd want a rifle that puts the cold shot within an inch of the rest for testing but make sure the operator can smack a plate at 600 off the ground on a bipod or a backpack or whatever would be the plan. Cold shot only.
Agreed, The cold bore shot is most important…..as it should be considered "the only shot"!

But, if the group is sub moa including the "cold bore" shot…..you should be golden as far as the rifle capabilities are concerned. Beyond that….the nut behind the trigger.

Would I be mostly correct in that statement! memtb

Yeah, for sure! All that's left is temperature, slope, and WIND!!…🤣

No matter how accurate a rifle is at 100 yds , you better be locked in at an extended range . I mainly hunt from a house blind and practice my hold from different positions . From my front window I'm shooting from a 12 ft elevation from the back 300 ft difference down . The name of that blind is the cliff hanger. Practice your hold and know your trajectory.;

Nice placement! Entrance or exit, range, cartridge. I looked the rifle specs up……looks like a nice pkg. memtb
The hog was Ammo Inc. 140 Accubond. The deer was Norma 140 Whitetail at 100 yards: exit hole pictured.
I do not consider the 6.5 Creedmoor to be much of a powerhouse for 600 yard shots though. For longer shots, I would opt for my 270 WSM or the 30-06.
