My daughter came down from Idaho for a visit so I rounded up, her, my son and myself to reserve a slot up at Cameo for some long range steel plate shooting. The two rifles that are my most accurate are a straight jacket barreled action using a zermatt origin action and their barrel in 6.5 creedmoor with a vortex razor hd lht scope along with a Remington 700 LR in 7mm prc using an athlon chronus btr scope 4.5x29x56 scope. All three of us made it to 1000 yards with very few misses on both rifles, the 1000 yard plate was 18x24, those hits were verified by the RO so we received a certificate and our names will go on record. At that point we decided to drop the creedmoor as there wasn't enough adjustment in the scope and went directly to the 7 prc. The goal was to go straight to the 1754 yard 24x24 plate. My son made the shot in 5 rounds fired, my daughter didn't make it and we ran out of time so I didn't get a chance. The shot required a 61.5 moa hold over and 2 MOA drift, the shot was 6 yards short of a mile, it was only witnessed by my daughter and me so he won't go on record for it. Hunting this year for me was disappointing, I coughed up 14 points to go into a trophy unit and walked out with nothing but today, today being with my two adult kids made me feel better than any shot I ever took on big game.
