I found my 7 STW in gun shop this last fall. (Sorry to those who have heard this befor an seen the photos on other threads.) It is some what of a mystery as I don't know who built it or the barrel make. However here are the other specs:
Remington 700 BDL built in 1962 first year 700 with a 5 didgit serial #. It has a 27" Sendero contour barrel (1-9" twist) with a Stainless Vias brake installed. It has been completely blue printed and the metal work and blueing is flawless. It was in it's origional stock, but now wears a H-S Precision Old style Sendero Stock and just got new bottom metal.
It's now wearing a V-XIII 6.5-20x 50mm Leupold scope with Warne Maxima rings and bases..
This is the Rifle as I recieved it, It hadn't been fired in at least 10 years and bore is perfect.
This is what it looks like now:
I'm working on loads specifically geared around the 180g Berger VLD using Either Hodgdon's US869 or Retumbo.
I haven't had the opportunity to shoot the test loads yet.
I have shot 160g Sierra Gamekings pushed by IMR7828 and they shot aound 3/4" It should do well.
