a couple of mid weight 7stw loads from hodgdon... their site has more...
probably not the ideal powder for a 7stw, but it'll go bang and might just surprise you accuracy wise.

I was hoping components would be getting easier to get. It seems harder to find items these days. I bought 4 pounds of H1000 about a month ago and ended up selling to my brother in law. Kicking myself, I should have bought more!! If a guy keeps looking things are turning up from time to time but they go fast!

I feel your pain... I bought some blems to play with in my 338, then went to town for powder, and it was really fast burning stuff or glorified dirt... 185's in a 338 need around 4350 burn rate, and there was zip in town. I have a decent amount around the house, but it's all dedicated to known good shooting loads, and I'm not burning up good stuff playing around right now. When it's $50 a # for limited use powder like rl10x you really do have a problem.

BTW, seriously, shop around and see if you can find some RL33. It's become my go to powder for all of my bigger cases.
H1000 is as dependable as the day is long. Usually the loads are going to be slower than RL33 loads and easier to tune where RL33 is consistency faster but sometimes takes a little more tweaking.

Good to know! Thanks, I'll keep an eye out. I've got quite a few choices on my shelf. Just none of that. I'm looking to work up a good load with the 195 EOL's

Going that heavy you might even seriously consider 50BMG if you can find it to.
Mario shoots a lot of Retumbo and really likes it so that's another potentially good option to look at.

195 EOLs and N570 is a match made in a great place. There is also small changes in speed with N568 and even somewhat faster.
You can find some load data and results with this combo 7STW - 195 EOL - N570 on hear.

Ok 7stw gurus, I have a bunch of 168 vldh. In want to try in my 7stw.
Also have a lot of rl26, as well as 7828, h1000, rl22, but those not a much.
Anyway, looking good see what has worked in your STWs with that bullet.
Not interested in burning up a lot of powder or bullets the way things are right now.
Just looking for some feedback and a starting point

I get very good velocity and accuracy with RL26 and 168's with my factory Sendero. However I have been shooting the classic hunters.
I wish Alliant would get more of their powders out soon. I use their stuff in several rifles with great sucess.
I'm running out.
