7mm SAUM Build Help

Because the SAUM is funner to say! I had a reamer made to spec off of a dummy round for mine and Im loading them a smidge over 3.1 coal with the 180 hybrid seated midway above the neck shoulder junction and top of the case. Its seated 40 thousandths off the lands and the freebore is long enough to load the 180 eldms to 20 thou off the lands without eating up much room in the powder column. At the time it was nearly impossible to get any 180 hybrids so I decided to chamber it for both.

Edit to add: It is built off of a Tikka T3x, which is for all intents and purposes is going to count as a long action. I could not fit that long of a bullet in a short action.

Although Hornady is now making brass for the 7WSM and the quality is excellent from my personal experience.
You said "Hornady" "Brass" and "Quality" in the same sentence....

Lol, I would say it's every bit as good as my Norma 300WSM brass. From what I understand they've brought quite a bit of the brass MFG in house since releasing the 2 PRC cartridges. It's every bit as good as my Hornady 6.5 and 300 PRC brass but it's definitely not a ADG quality brass. For hunting applications it will be perfect. It's head and heels above what I've seen in Winchester bags lately. Hornady on the top and Norma on the bottom.

I have a 7mm saum proof prefit barrel for Tikka t3x 22" long sendero profile. The barrel has a 1:8.4 twist with a sammi spec chamber that has never been fired still wrapped in plastic and in original packaging. I was planning on doing a build similar to yours but decided not to. I cant post in classifieds until Wednesday.
Hey man. Shoot me a pm if you still have this. I'm interested.

I'm wanting to build one of these as well and just starting to do my research.

I'm gonna do 20" barrel and thinking 1:8 for the 180's but will that be too fast if I also want to run 140's at a higher speed?
