7mm SAUM Build Help

I've got a Tikka build, 7saum 22" barrel. It was finicky with the 180 hybrid but shoots the 180 HVLD lights out. 2950 with H1000. I forget the freebore but can get the COAL and CTBO

2950 is absolutely smoking fast with a 180gr out of a 22" barrel. Is that right?! How many grains are you running?

Yea validated to 1100 yards. 64 grains.

I am running a 24" 7SS, pushing a 184 Hyb over N565 @ 2868fps suppressed. Just shot it out to 1401 on Friday. Hits like a sledgehammer.

I have a shooting partner who runs a 24" 7SS with a 195 over Retumbo, and he is getting 2820fps with a warm load.

A similarly built 7SAUM should match those numbers.

I'm running a 22" with 180's pushed by RL26 at 2,962' avg. I have two 24's that push them at 2,990'ish and both of those push the 175's just over 3,000

I was told the eldm were slower than the Bergers, I believe because of a longer bearing surface maybe? I might be making that up.

I didn't play with the ELDM, but the Berger Hybrid was slower than the HVLD by ~75fps with the same charge/primer.

My brother shoots the 180eldm out of his 18" suppressed and is getting 2800fps with RL26.
He claims is better in the shorty barrels than H1000

The barrel has a 1:8.4 twist with a sammi spec chamber that has never been fired still wrapped in plastic and in original packaging. I was planning on doing a build similar to yours but decided not to. I cant post in classifieds until Wednesday.

I was planning on doing a build similar to yours but decided not to. I cant post in classifieds until Wednesday.

I have two of those same barrel but for defiance prefits. They both shoot lights out with the 180's

Kind of like a 3006 and a 300wm. The 3006 can shoot a lighter bullet almost as fast as the 300wm can shoot a heavy bullet.

The 7 SAUM will allow you to move up to rats with a little more HP if you choose to do so. I have both and love my 7-08, my SAUM is built on a SA with a 22-in barrel, same as my 7-08 but I'm pushing 175 gr Elite Hunters at 2858 fps.

My 7 SAUM is built on a REM 700 Long action you will need a magnum bolt face, I'm shooting 180 Gr Berger Hybrids with Retumbo 63.7 Gr, MV is a little over 3000 FPS, free bore is 0.172, shoots .25 MOA at 100 Yds, Bartlien 26" Carbon Fiber 7.5 twist. You will have to convert the magazine for the longer COAL for a repeater.

I have a 26" barrel on my 7 saum, wishing I would have went with 24" but is what it is. I'm at 3020fps with n565 and it is just absolutely lights out. 1/4" moa at 100 yards, just hit 1820 yards the other day. Can't remember coal off top of my head.
