7m08 or 308 ?

I have to take a look at them 145s I was all ways told to shoot the shoulder then they can't run and have never lost a deer from doing that but u lost lots of meat and I used cheap core lokes

Left 7mm 139gr btsp, Middle 7mm 145gr barnes lrx, Right 30cal 165gr btsp

$33/50 from the mail order places, $38 at something like cabelas I think.

The barnes are going to be my hunting round and hornady 139s are my plinking load $23/100.
Hornady bullets are great for plinking and for fire-forming brass for wildcats or Ackleys, because they are so cheap. Like you said, around $23 for a 100 ct. box. Sure beats wasting hard to find and expensive bullets like Bergers, Noslers, and Barnes.

I use the cheapest Hornady Interlocks that I can find for fire-forming my Ackleys.
 
I'm with the crowd on this. Owned both 7mm08 and 308 the 7mm08 has a clear edge when hunting 100 pound whitetailed deer and will do everything the 308 will do except shoot 180+ grain bullets.
