The only reason I'd pick the Ai over the Mag. is no belt on the Ai!

Have both, the AI is built into a lighter rifle profile, the 7mag into a standard bolt format, maybe half- 1 pound heavier, never weighed them as it was never an issue.
When the AI barrel is worn it will likely become a .30/06 which is a better pairing to the 7mag and equals all velocities per bullet weights of the AI anyway.
